Getting to the Gurten
Before arriving in Berne
Make sure you have received your confirmation (everything is paid, your seat is guaranteed). If have haven’t received your confirmation or you don’t see a green bullet on the participants list get in contact with us.
Important: Train ticket for Gurten Bahn!
You must buy a Ticket over the Gurtenbahn shop (It’s still free of charge for you)
- If you’re staying at a Hotel in the City of Bern -> Request the “Bern Ticket” from your hotel, no need to buy a ticket here
- If you have a GA (SBB General Abonnement) -> No need to buy a ticket here
For all others:
Visit the Gurtenbahn online store https://shop.gurtenbahn.ch/ and buy a Ticket
- from Wabern (valley)
- to Gurten Kulm (and return)
- Checkout as guest
- If you have a ½-Tax (half-fare), make sure you buy the correct ticket
- Use Voucher Code which we’ve sent you by e-mail

From Bern train station, the best option is to take the S-Bahn No. 3/31 towards Belp to the ‘Wabern’ station or the tram No. 9 towards Wabern to the ‘Gurtenbahn’ stop. The Gurten funicular valley station is just a few steps away from the stops.
Alternatively, the following bus lines also go to the Gurten valley station:

Arrive to Gurten by car
The road to Gurten is closed to private traffic. There is a general driving ban. You can drive to the valley station. Right next to the valley station, there is a parking garage with 285 paid parking spaces, five charging stations for electric cars, and two disabled parking spaces. There are also 200 free parking spaces for bicycles and motorcycles.
